simply... yes. To power everything else that may be in your computer, perhaps?
I'm intrigued to know the background to this question
In addition to the other responses, yes 300w will be adequate for a standard machine with 1 or 2 hard drives, CD-ROM, DVD, floppy drive and a reasonable graphics card. If you've got a high-end 64++MB graphics card, 21" monitor reliant on PSU power, have overclocked like hell and have an ATA-100/133 RAID drive setup, 300w may not serve you so well.
