Why was someone from BT trying to fix your computer?
Question Author
Cos I couldnt get an engineer. Also he told me if it wasn't fixed for me to bring it to a computer repair. Shop for them to look at it
If you rang BT and the man who turned up wasn't a genuine BT guy how did he get the call out?
BT does not repair PCs.

I'm on iPad so I m not good with touch typing. He was contacted by bt but he hasn't been trained by bt. Just a man who must have said at his interview. Ach I know a wee bit about technology. He contacted his boss who told him to go home. The guy kept apologising for him not being able to fix it
Is there any reason you haven't contacted one of the PC repair businesses in Belfast, like this one? https://belfastcomputerrepairs.com/
Question Author
Well barry I did ask BT caller did he know about an engineer who could help me and he said. This guy will go

I don't know what to do anymore
Question Author
He said I can only fix laptops
BT would only come out for broadband connection issues or faults on your line. They will only charge you if it’s not their fault, ie it’s your PC that is broken. What is the problem? Can you turn it on and what messages or codes of anything are you getting?
Jenny Joan, I’ve just read your previous question and see it’s a broad ban issue. Have you tried the trouble shooter facility in settings - network connection on your PC?
Question Author
Can't get a human in Currys. Just a voice recording which I can't hear
Question Author
IAM not computer savvy at all
So 'the BT guy' was actually trying to fix your broadband, not your PC?
as i said before you need home-visiting computer repair person. There'll be a small firm somewhere near you - just do a google search "computer repair firm near me".
The other course of action is to buy a new computer.
Question Author

Question Author
