Just got this out of b ox today and am having real problems setting up! Have done all the basic things and downloaded the full manual (which does not say much) and my main problems are:

I have some apps on the Home Screen and swiping up gives me a load more. Problem is unlike my previous tablet which had a circle at bottom of screen to click to return to Home there is nothing here and I cannot get back to Home Screen every time - just keep tapping screenand swiping!

Another very annoying think is every time I go into Play Store and try to order an appthe keyboard will not appear and all I get is a blue mike! I do not want to use this at all - just type. Is it something to do with Google and how can I get rid permanently please? I went through every heading in settings and feel I must have clicked something wrong. I also brought up all apps and nothing appeared about speech!

When I first switch on the tablet it goes directly to Home Screen but I am lost from there.

Thanks all

I have just turned my Android tablet on and don't have that arrow - I don't recall seeing anything like you described. What version Android are you using?

Try
Settings > Display > Navigation bar to configure your Tab M10's navigating features. Choose 'classic' and see if that does the trick

This link refers to the Tab M10, rather than to the Tab M8, (and refers to a missing 'Back' button, rather than to the 'Home' one) but I suspect that it might well point you in the right direction anyway:

^^^ Snap!
Can't understand why there is no keyboard in Google Play - try settings - language and input - keyboard.
Turn off Google voice typing

How can I turn off Google voice typing please?
It should be there in settings - general management - keyboard list and default.
You should be able to turn off Google Voice Typing and, if it's there, Google Voice Typing (Legacy)

There is no Navigation bar in settings for Classic or anything else and I have tried to switch of Google Voice but it is still there!
I have the M8 so must be different to M10
I just cannot get to my Home Page easily - I keep swiping and tapping and some times it appears
Try Settings > Display > System Navigation > 3 Button Navigation.

Check that Google Assistant isn't enabled:

Eureka I found it - it was under 'System at bottom of my settings!

It gave me options to switch off Google Voice Typing (Legacy as you said) plus more important for me there was an option called 3 button nav which has given me the circle - back arrow -square like other tablets
Thank you all so much!!

Glad you're sorted, these things should not be so blerdy complicated

Hi barry1010
Sorry to bother you further - the tablet is all set up and everything transferred ok from what I needed on my laptop - there is just one final thing that puzzles me!
On the Home Page to centre left is a little 'coloured arrow'
which might be google colours pointing in to the screen and when I swipe it there are black screens with lot of info about movies!
It does not really matter because if swipe it back again and don't touch it then arrow just stays there. Is it some sort of Google app?
Thanks again

Seems it is only on the M8 and it is called 'Entertainment Space' according to Lenovo who I managed to contact! They told me to press and hold down in Home Screen and Home settings appeared and at the bottom of list is 'entertainment space' which I switched off - great, but nothing at all in the full manual which is very sparse in instructions.
Thanks again Barry 1010
