Usually, when you buy a domain name, you will be offered a hosting package (so much web-space at so much per month/year). Did you sign up for such a deal? If not, you need to sign up for a hosting package. You can find one by googling "cheap hosting" or similar words.
Onve you've signed up, you host will give you details like: Username, Password, FTP Address.
You then upload your web site using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Depending on what software you used to develop your site, you may have a built-in upload facility. If so you just need to tell it the Address, Username and Password.
If you don't have a built-in facility you can publish the site locally, and then use an FTP client such as CuteFTP or similar ( I think there are some free ones in there, try google). Once again, you just need to enter the Username, Password and Address, but you need to tell it which files to upload.
Using either method, once you have signed a hosting deal and obtained you Username, Address and Password, the help that comes with the program should be adequate to get your site up and running.
I hope this helps

I would recommend web mania:
http://www.web-mania.com
very cheap for what they offer, plenty of storage and loads of bandwidth.
if you do want to get them (or someone else) to host your site, you will tell them that you already have a domain name, that you want to bring to them. they'll ask for the nameservers (usually two) that your domain is currently on. to get these, goto the control panel thingy on the domain registrar's website that you bought the domain from, and there will be somewhere that tells you the nameservers. will probably be ns1.registrarsdomain.com and ns2.registrarsdomain.com.
then once you've brought your domain over to the hosting site you choose, they'll give you your username and password to log into your site using FTP. the FTP program i'd recommend using is filezilla: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
then all you do is copy (upload) all your website across to the server, using the FTP program. then check your website in your favourite browser, and it should be there!
