Does Leaving My Mobile Phone Switched On Continually Shorted The Life Of Its Battery?
Since BT discontinued all land line service here my mobile is my only phone, so I keep it switched on 24/7. Does this shorten the life of the battery? Also, is it better to let it go almost flat before recharging it?

There is a school of thought that says you should not let your mobile's battery drain below 10% nor charge it more than 80%. There are even apps that will manage this:

other schools of thought say that you should let it go low 10-15% but NOT zero and recharge to full and once it is 100% disconnect.
do not leave it empty
Life of a batt is the time ( years ) before it becomes unusable: wont charge wont retain charge, discharges too soon.
The engineer who told me the above ( 'you neednt talk to my husband: everyone finds him boring) didnt cover life of a batt
To New Judge and others, I live in Salisbury which was one of the first two locations where BT discontinued the old 'copper wires' exchange. My phone service was provided by Plus Net, so I was not swapped to VOIP via 'Digital Voice'. Plus Net do not provide a VOIP service at all, so now my mobile is my only phone.
