my  laptop  keeps   keeps  deleting  history  how  can  i  avoid  that   thanks

Which web browser are you using?  (Edge? Chrome? Firefox? Something else?)

It's not a Russian laptop is it? The Russians like to delete history.

With chrome open click "more" --top right.
Click History
Look for "controls"
Uncheck Auto Delete History or with it on set a time period that suits you.

Try resetting Chrome to its default settings:

Click the three dots.  (Top right-hand corner).

Scroll down to 'Settings' and click on it.

Scroll down to 'Reset settings' and click on it.

Click on 'Restore settings to their original defaults'.

Click on 'Reset settings'.

"Controls" are only a generalisation of the means to make system changes once you are in History. I am not familiar with chrome in W11 but I do know that the default is for browsing History to be saved, so you must have somehow turned on the History deletion. Probably in Privacy and Security > Activity History. It will say Store my activity history on this device in a box. Toggle the slider back on.
