How Do I Access The Asterisk On A Laptop?

It's on the zero key.  To the left is the right side of a pair of brackets and to the right the asterisk.

If I ever knew this I've forgotten.

I don't have a laptop in front of me, but if it's shift 8 why doesn't yours show it there, but has it on the zero key instead ?

I see now it is on the 8 .  But on the zero key there's the right hand side of a pair of brackets and an asterisk to the right of that.

OG there are 2, I think sandy is referring to the one on the numeric keypad. The usual one is Shift 8. The one on the numeric keypad on a standard keyboard is desiged for use without shift. On as laptop though often the keybad is there but it's a contorted approach to get to it depending on the laptop.
