Hi there

A friend of mine sent me a document attached to an email with one drive I've tried to download or open it and it says I need a password. I'm totally confused. A password for the document or one drive. I've never heard of that ??

They have not sent the document via one drive, you are attempting to open it with the microsoft one drive document reader. Sign in with your microsoft account number password or use a diffent app to open the document file.

Is your friend an office online user?

If signing into one drive with your microsoft password does not allow access to the file it may be worth reading this.

The sender needs to mark the file as readable by anyone. Or he could attach the actual document rather than a onedrive link.
