whenever i search for anything on the net i click on the site i want to visit and it is then taken via the above website and i get a website similar to the one i requested. very annoying when trying to buy things from amazon e.t.c. any ideas?

your browser has been hijacked.

you need to do a complete scan for spyware, trojans, hijackers etc etc

Try Spybot S&D, thats free.

if you do a google for remove abcseasrch you will get a few ways to remove it

forgot to mention. get Avast Home edition free anti virus

it will update itself automatically and is always getting good reviews. its not the be all and end all but it will certainly help

you can also d/load the free Microsoft Antispyware proggy

You can download a program called 'Hijackthis, and it should correct things.I have had my browser hijacked a couple of times, and this program always sorted it out.
