Starware on my computer!!!!!!

How do I remove this uninvited and very unwanted pest on my computer? I've tried various downloads, but I can't seem to stop the persistent b*****d!! please help.

Note: Never alter registry values until you are satisfied you have read through everything and are sure you understand what to do.
Before altering registry values ensure you have tried using anti spy programmes and ensured you tried to add/remove programmes first.
Adware Programmes (Free): Ad-aware at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot at http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
To remove programmes go to 'Start' then 'control panel' then 'add/remove' programmes. Wait until the full list of programmes shows then select what you want to remove, click 'remove' or similar and restart computer. Has it gone?
Only after trying the above should you then consider regsitry changes. Or ask yourself, can you live with it?
If you are using Internet Explorer and it is affected, have you tried using Mozilla Firefox, an alternate to Explorer...and better and probably wont be affected by Starware
