A Stay Of Execution For Grannies.....
News7 mins ago
I would like to apply for a scheme they have at work - though I work from home and it still applies. They allow you (through application) to work 9 days very fortnight instead of 10 and you make up the hours on the those nine of your extra day off.
I suffer from Spinal Stenosis, and I sit at my desk and it doesn't help me at all. But I would like help with the wording in my application email please.
I thought something like this - and I would appreciate any help to get the 2nd Friday off:
I would like to apply for the rolling week as I feel it would benefit me this for my mental and physical health. As I suffer from Spinal Stenosis the extra Friday off, would help me manage my symptoms and improve my work to life ratio by giving me a longer span of days off, to allow some respite to my back.
as always any help is always welcomed.
well they have got back to me and stated only a Wednesday is available unless I have a specific reason why I would need a Friday? I need a longer period off, and feel Wednesday wouldn't give me that.. it's just a stop gap to help.. whereas every other Friday helps because it's a longer time off together.. any thoughts help with why I would prefer Friday - help always appreciated
Then that's what you tell them: Wednesdays would only be a days break, which while that offer is appreciated, one day between longer working days would not have the positive impact on your symptoms as a regular longer weekend would. the opportunity to have some respite would improve your physical and metal health which in turn would have apositive effect on work.
Could you get anything in writing from your GP to support your case?
