Girl Attacked With Sword During Hull Camping Trip, Court Told
Is it not time to lower the age of criminal responsibility?
\\Mr Lamb said the boy asked the girl to stop while he urinated in the woods, but then removed the sword that he had secreted in his waistband.
He added: “He pushed her to the ground to start with before he crouched down and said ‘I’m sorry, I have to do this’.”
The court was told the boy restrained her, grabbing her by her neck, and stabbed her 10 times, causing cuts, a collapsed lung and a damaged liver.
The attack only stopped when she managed to kick him away.//

In very rare cases a juvenile defendant can be named after the trial but the law is there to give them a chance in later life. If they are named, then it is likely that on their release they will be given a new identity and new life, which is very expensive and ongoing.

Mary Bell was a child when she committed two murders. She has lived a quiet, decent life since her release under a new identity (several new identities) and is a mother.
