Does anyone know when the UK will be getting HD and what channels will be showing HD.

However:
HD TV i thought was already here! Or at least on the market but maybe not in mainstream shops yet.
To see HD programmes you WILL need an HD TV, they reckon starting prices will be around �1400
Not all programmes will be HD compatible.
I understand, though cant confirm, that If you have an HD TV you wont be able to watch normal programming and vice versa. HD programmes are supposed to have a definition 4 and a half times greater than standard TV
But hold your horses there is another technology in the making that will rival HD TV, saw it on a programmes the other day, cant recall what it was or even if I am 100% correct but...If I am right...then will HD TV last? Will another technology make HD TV obsolete before it even gets off the ground?
