The Game Cube has some fabulous games but they tend to be aimed more at a slightly younger audience than say the PS2. Similarly if you like violent or aggressive games then there's possibly more choice on PS2. X box games sit in the middle but this is changing as many games are released on PS2 and X box at the same time.
As I have a partner who loves violent games, the only advice I can give is if you don't already have a DVD player, make sure the one you choose plays DVD's as well as playing games. All the best weepie movies are really cheap on DVD so if you are at home working hard and he is having fun 9 to 5, you are able to watch some quality stuff........................... just my 1/2 pennys worth...............(sorry if I offended the REAL Working GIRLS!)
I would definitely recommend the PS2. The gamecube is aimed at a much younger audience, but does have some fantastic games, and the X-box is dying on its feet. Although being the technologically superior machine, it has little in the way of exclusive games or anywhere near as big a back catalogue as the PS2. Plus nearly all of its so called x-box exclusive titles are finding their way on to ps2 in the coming months!
The Xbox is a technically superior machine, and the same titles are now coming out at the same time for both machines. The Xbox also has Halo, one of the best fps shooters ever with halo 2 in the pipeline. The Xbox is also due to lead the way in online gaming over sony and nintendo who seem to be struggling with the concept for some reason.
