Does anyone think that as much as we grow as a race and invent and develop all this new technology to 'aid our living' that we are actually becoming stupider through our growing intelligence by the way we continue to act as a result of such new technology...The atomic bomb was a great example.

The way we treat people now, they way we can declare war so freely, the way we invest more and more into developeing countries, America, England, even Australia to a certain extent but forget the countries still struggling to live and build basic living arrangements/techniques: Africa being the prime example there.

In a word No....

History prior to the 20th centry was almost a constant war between different nations.

Much of Europe spent most of the 18th and 19th destorying much of the world putting people in to slavery and taking over large parts of the world on a whim.

Today is relatively peacefull and civil in comparison to pretty much any period of history.
i agree with ivy jo.i dont think it is peaceful there is trouble nearly everywhere.man will destroy himself in time.

Man WILL destory himself in time, exactly. We aren't living in peacful times at all, just because it seems that way looking back at past centuries. We have leaders like Bush, declaring war on a whim, and while we sit at home watching telelvision, playing on our computers or whatever new gadget we have bought, MP3 player, mobile phone, we have Africa struggling to stay alive. Why arent we doing anything with this new technology and power it gives us to reduce number of deaths from poverty in thrid world countries? We are just too involved with ourselves as a growing generation and country that we stick our heads in the sand when it comes to the dying children in Etheopia...

I completely agree with wo wo, the answer is NO.

Sending computers and I pods to Africa won't do much good.

The only way the developed nations could help them would be to invade those countries and take over the running of them.

Oh sure, lets just take over the whole world while were at it. Taking away a countries freedom and identity will not solve anything. Im not saying lets give ipods and computers to third world countries, i'm saying that with all this growing technology we have in our countries we are only focusing on ourselves and our own personal developemnet and not other people in the world who still need our help to give them aid and built houses!...not a government.
OK, i think someone has not quite grasped the whole picture, i think you will find that most of the technology we have today is miles ahead of the paper and data bases of product patents which could end world hunger clear up the atmosphere and let everyone live happily ever after . . . . unfortunately that will never happen as thier has to be a balance positive and negative, if we all had a fantastic lives we would be even more overpopulated than we are now, as a race were not stupid just naive and lack common sense, survival of the fittest we have tried to keep people alive longer than they should by having better antibiotics which now has produced superbugs its a constant battle which unfortunately mankind will never win, the end is nigh is not far wrong.
