On Google earth, when moving around how can you find out the names of buildings that you come accross?

Any real interesting things to look at on the map

When does it date from about 2000?

At the bottom left is a selection called Layers. Its a selection of labels you can have shown such as airports, places of interest and such. Have look through to find ones that interest you, but I don't think there are specific buildings labels.

Its made up of several thousand photos put togoether as a mosaic. The photos are taken by several different agencies and as such are taken at differing times. Most are from last year and there are already some taken this year.

On a view of a nearby town to me I could make out some building work going on from 2002, but as Skids says the photos come from different sources and different times....also on sunny days, which must have taken a lot of effort for the U.K.

I can see my neighbours car out side our house at that time it was a 52 model I can aslo see his daughters car which is a 03 model so I reckon the photo was taken after March 2003. It was taken on a Saturday as I an see crowds outside Celtic Park

Pre May 2003 for the Manchester pictures, City are playing at Maine Road.

Yes i looked at the council house (City of Manchester Stadium) and judging by the progress of the building i thought it must have been from about 2000/1

I first downloaded Google earth when it first came out, I got fed up with it and deleted it.

A few days ago I downloaded it again and it has been updated a lot and is much better so if you have an older version I would advise you to do the same.
