PC Freeze on Shutdown??

Hey all.

Got a question for all PC users. Sometimes when I press the Shutdown button on the Start menu, it makes all the icons on the desktop disappear and then remains on what ever the desktop picture is without shutting down!

I have waited for over an hour when its like this to see if it shuts off by itself but it never does forcing me to press and hold the power button on the tower.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know why it happens and what to do please?

mine occasionally does this as well. As it's only an intermittent thing I switch off at the mains. It always seems fine the next time I use it.

Problems during shutdown are often caused by programs 'not responding' during the closedown process.
It could be a sign of spyware infection, i recommend doing a thorough system and hard disk scan.
