There's a pc here that won't boot up. It tests the memory, then the following appears:

C:\>C:\DOS\Smartdrv.EXE /X

It was running Windows ME.

Any ideas?

is there a disk in any drive ?
Question Author
No - there are no discs in it
Are you using SMART harware monitoring? It's a standard thing on alot of motherboards. My hard driver never died so I'm not sure

try typing WIN and hitting enter.

If windows loads then great, if not then try typing

cd windows

win

if that works then you need to edit a file called Autoexec.bat on c:\ to tell your PC to load Windows once dos finishes loading.
