on some sites, not many, no thumbnail images show only a red "X" in the corner. how can i get these images to show. my browsers security is at default.

it may just be that the images have been moved from the server they were on. if so, you'll get those little X marks.

care to give us an example URL, and let us see if we also get a load of X's too?

sure, i've been trying to get some images of cars on this site but only x's come up for images

I took a look and the images show up okay on my system. I guess it must be something to do with how yours is set up. Click on Tools> Internet Options> and click on the Advanced tab. Look down the list, there may be something that should be checked (such as Show Pictures, under Multimedia). If this is only happening on this site though, this won't be the answer - that would affect all sites equally. Definitely worth checking out though, right down that list (make a note of any that you change in case the changes cause a problem, so you can reset them).
yea, all iamges work fine for me.

you don't employ some sort of ad blocker do you? when i tried it in firefox first, i didn't see anything at all, as it recognises all the images as adverts (and thus blocks them).
