Dial up connection prompt

I have been on broadband now since Christmas but when I connect to the net and sometimes when I am surfing, the dial up connection prompt appears. I have to cancel this several times(in a row) before it disappears. I have deleted the dial up connection in 'network connections' in control panel etc.

Please help because it is a pain.

Thanks in advance.

If you're using Internet Explorer, try this:

Click 'Tools' then 'Internet Options'. Select the 'Connections' tab. Click alongside 'Never dial a connection'. Click 'Apply'. Click 'OK'.

You may have a dialler trojan - try running adaware and spybot.

You definitiley have a dialler trojan that is trying to connect you to a premium rate phone line.

I would advise anybody with Broadband to follow Buenchico's instructions as you should never need to dial a connection again and this certainly stops it happening.
