Does anyone know of a program that will recover files from a damaged dvd? My niece has done a great job of scratching some of my dvds from my video camera, so I need a recovery program as I can't replace them via a shop. However - the only programs I can find do too precise a job if that makes sense. For example it gets 120MB into one of the .VOB files before it stops being able to read the disk. It them takes about 3 hours to progress a further 15MB into the file. Is there a program that will jump forward and test the disc a couple of megs down the line when it encounters an error? As they are home movies I don't mind if I lose a few seconds here and there to end up with a playable disc. Thanks in advance - Carlos

If the wonderful ISOBuster doesn't work, then I very much doubt that anything will:

Good luck!

try this..seriously it works

Get some cooking oil and rub it into the disc surface in small circles from the inner hole outwards, then rub off with tissue paper.

Won't fix them for good but should be enough to get the data off them
