Mobile Phone Account Issue

I joined Hutchison 3G mobile early last year,I ported my number accross from orange to Hutchison 3G.Now i lost my job and my services where shutdown,Which i totaly understand and i am not complaining about.I called up Hutchison 3G customer services today to get a pac to take my number to a different network and i was told that my account was shut down on the 30th december 2005 and could not have a pac.Now i was never informed about this nor a bill ever sent for me to pay off the account,Can they just take my mobile number off me like that or can i get it back some how......?????

It's at Hutchison discression wether they give you a PAC.

Best thing to do would be write a letter i think
