I have a memory stick that I PC now says it is un-formated although it contains files and I have been using it for the past 6 months. How can I recover the data?

Unfortunately, this happened to one of mine, and I never succeeded in reviving it. I suspect yours is dead too. Hope there was nothing too important on it, but never trust these devices to be your only storage.

Try Google with 'memory stick recovery' there are loads of products - some free, some as cheap as �7.50, some with downloadable demos.


Once you've recovered the data, make sure that you backup onto your hard disc and/or CD/DVD.


There's always Norton Utilities with its Disc Doctor - I used to use Disc Doctor when we used floppies a lot!
