I need an identical picture on every page of a document, and don't want to have to manually insert the picture on each page. I'm thinking of the way that headers and footers appear on all subsequent pages. I can't include the picture in the header, since the header will only appear on the first page and the text needs to wrap around the picture on the following pages. Am I asking the impossible or is there a way to do it - I've trawled through Word Help and can't find anything remotely like what I want to do. Thanks!

As far as I can see, the way to do it is by using the header function. If you start with a blank page and then choose 'header and footer' from the 'view' menu. Now insert the picture into the header and then move it to where you want it. Right click on the image and choose ' format picture'. From there you can set the 'wrapping' to how you like it. Now go back to the 'view' menu and choose 'header and footer' again. On every new page created the image will appear (in the same place). If that's not clear then feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Many thanks, both! I started with meta's idea (I don't know anything about text linking, and it sounds a bit scary.) It does indeed work. I've got round the problem of needing a header only on the first page by going into "View header and footer - page setup - different first page", and editing out the bit I don't need on the second page. So now I've got what I want - a header and picture on Page 1, the same picture but no header on Page 2 and all subsequent pages automatically. One happy bunny.

Thanks, wildwood - I thought I'd get the wrapping problem too, which is why although I'd thought of headers, I'd rejected the idea at first (until meta suggested it, so thought I'd try it after all.) I inserted the image in the header, then resized it so some of it was outside the header area. I have a long boring document that I use for test purposes and it happily wrapped for several pages before I got bored. HOWEVER I don't know if it would work if the image was completely outside the header - mine needs to be top right corner. Plus I don't know diddly about Works - I use Word, and they're very different animals from what I gather.
