msgtag - is there a simple way to disable it?

I dislike being monitored in this fashion. It's nobody's business when I read an email.

I use gmail. How can I stop msgtag reporting back to sender?

Ha ha. I have read gmails terms and conditions carefully, thanks.

I did not agree to anybody attaching msgtags to my incoming emails.

if you feel so strongly about it don't read the mail, whats the problem anyway..gmail keep every mail you've ever read or sent so talk about big brother.....

The emails that I am referring to are from a mentally ill relative. I need to read them straight away to ensure there is not an emergency, but don't always have the time or emotional resources to deal with him there and then.

He would get very distressed if I told him I would contact him later.

I guard my privacy - I am registered with both telephone and mail preference servicess so that I don't get junk mail or cold calls, also the Royal Mail Drop Mail Opt-Out and never accept recorded delivery mail if I am not expecting it.

So you see - I NEED to be able to read the emails as soon as I can, but equally need the sender to be unaware that I have.

If you know how this can be done, please let me know.

Further more, gmail may know which computer has sent and received the mail, but they have no idea who I am.

You can register any rubbish as your personal details.
