Is it possible to go from java update5 to update 6 without removing and reinstalling the program?

java is a blessed nuisance inasmuch as it updates by doing a complete install.

When I realised this I had four updates on my hard-drive each of 145mb.

Now, whenever I have installed an update I remove the old version through add/remove programme.

No problems so far.
