If you need to ask, I'm not too sure it's a good idea you do it. It can bust your PC PERMANENTLY! Anyway....

Sure that's not 1408?

If it is :

Follow the instructions there.

The other thing is that under no circumstances can you allow the power to fail during a bios upgrade, the bios (and the PC) will become unusable.

If you have an RCD trip in your house make sure that nobody is doing anything which might cause it to trip during the upgrade, which usually takes a couple of minutes.

I would agree with OBonio, if you need to ask how to do it, then you would be well advised not to attempt it unless absolutely necessary.

Don't do it just for the sake of it, if the PC is running OK, leave well alone.

My pc shuts off on its own and it displays the blue screen of death. I have been advised by someone form scan computers to upgrade my bios.
What does the blue screen say? I doubt it's a BIOS problem.

Again I would agree with OBonio. Before attempting anything find out your BIOS version from your POST screen then check the motherboard manufacturer's BIOS updates ,each of which will have a brief description of what they are for,and see if any of the updates relate to your particular problem. If none of them do, leave the BIOS alone and look further afield.

The manufacturers website will also list updates to the various drivers which are more likely to be the root of your problem and much easier to apply without the risk of damaging the BIOS chip of your motherboard.
