Further info to problem below

Last night my friend was downloading the windows updates, this morning out of nowhere he got a blue screen, the computer shuts down and it makes reference to their being a problem with kmixer.sis and in particular makes reference to page_fault_in_non-aged_area ... this happens every time he tries to restart, and he has also done a system restore prior to downloading the updates.... help our whole weekend is being ruined !!!

Have had a look at google and it does seem a not uncommon fault , i know that doesnt help, but have a look here to see if this helps ? (Kmixer is something to do with sound drivers by the comments made)
I googled "kmixer.sys" +"page fault in non paged area" and found a few forums, so maybe worthwhile having a read of a few to eliminate things one by one?

start it up in safe mode, that way u will be able to use the pc to sort it,
