I am just about to purchase a DSLR camera and just wanted to know if anyone in here had opinions on any of the following three. Canon 350D, Nikon D50,Fuji S8700,

Canon 350D seems to be getting the best reviews and Edfitor's choice just now. A friend has recently bought one and thinks it's great.
Canon 350D is the best of those three.

Even better than those three is the Nikon D70s, but that's more expensive again.

Depends what you're after in your camera; but the 350D will probably suit you well.
Ive used both and found the canon more user friendly but the nikon was better quality and more compatable with older lenses (and cheaper). If you already have an slr and can use it competently get the nikon - if not go for the canon.
One tip -just buy the body and spend a bit more on buying a Sigma lens (or second hand canon/ nikon) that suits your needs.

I would agree with the 350D.


I have a 300D (the previous model) and am very very happy with it. In that price range, it's a very capable camera and produces superb results.

I have recently bought a 350D and am very happy with it. I previously used a Canon film slr so the canon lenses are compatable but the sigma lens that I used previously is not
