So, I have just un-installed AVG Anti-Virus free version software & installed NTL Netguard Anti-Virus free software - having done that, it has just taken ages to try to send an email & has now said it can' be sent. ggggrrr!
I think I'll try to send myself a test email & see what happens, if that's not successful, I might un-install Netguard & see what happens, unless you have any further suggestions. Ta.
My details are on the first answer above. I've already been in contact with NTL & they tell me there isn't a problem with the network in our area.
I have to say, things have fastened up on emails & on here since my last post - coincidence eh?
I'll see what tomorrow brings & thank you so much for your help fo3.

I uninstalled AVG last night - have only just switched on my PC (after doing lots of housework) & it seems to be running much quicker today. It has to be something to do with AVG, as whenever I was in a programme, it always completely slowed down when an email was coming in.
I'll look into downloading advanced uninstaller 2004 - but have you any more info on it please D.B.?
