windows explorer xp

when i shut down my pc..i av to wait for windows explorer to close...then get a message saying "not responding" any ideas???

when i had this prob it was due to my rom drive on the way out as it had been making a noise for a while and was refusing to shut down.but to find your prob you could click on start >right click my computer >manage then click on the plus sign on event viewer and you will be able to see what caused this error hopefully.
