ACPI Conflict

AMLI:ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal IO port address (0xf8) This disables my sound card. How can I resolve this issue without going into BIOS? or, how will it affect my PC if I do go into bios and switch off ACPI and can I easily do this?

depends on what soundcard it is, try downloading the latest drivers for it or emailing the manufacturer (either sound card or m/board) there was a similar problem to this with the sound blaster Live! cards and some hardware...
