Two computers, one monitor, keyboard, mouse!

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to link 2 separate PC's into 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse. The PC's would be used at different times and obviously not together.

This situation is caused by my girlfriend moving in and bringing her own PC with her which she does not want to give up. I also have my own PC which I do not want to give up. I know we could get round it by taking a hard drive out of one of the PC's and putting it in the other or transferring all files and programs from one to the other. Its a kind of stubborn situation where we would both rather have our own computer and share a monitor, keyboard, mouse and maybe printer!

As for sharing a printer... if the computers are networked your could just share it and ensure the PC it's connected to is switched on when the other needs to use it.

Or you could get one of these :

which also needs a network...
I have one of these

Same sort of thing but also allows USB devices to be shared. My printer uses a USB connection so I can share that also.
