is it possible to save a song that you have streamed from the internet with windows media player?

You can't use WMP to ave streamed files but, if it's an MP3 stream, you can use this:

will record ANYTHING that is going through your soundcard. It also brings up a simple editor to remove blank sections (as sometimes streaming content can get interrupted when it buffering etc.) before you save recording to a file
