Sky Plus Sound

I have Sky Plus and am finding that when I record programmes we get interrupted sound the picture does not stop but the sound stops and restarts almost immediately. This only happens on certain channels and programmes some others we dont have any probs. Any ideas or should I just buy new if so any recommendations gratefully accepted.
