CD-RW disc space query....

I back up some files onto a 700mb CD-RW disc. Every now and then I update the files and then replace the old ones on both my PC and CD-RW. For some strange reason my 700mb C D-RW disc's space lowers substantially everytime I update this file, which is only 2mb. When I right click on the disc it does not state that it it a 700mb disc with "X" amount of space used. There is only around 40mb of files on this disc, and when I right click it says something silly like Free Space 37.5MB / Capaicty 39mb. This changes everytime I replace any of the files.

In the past I have had to erase the disc and start again becasue the disc had "run out of space" even though there was only 50mb of stuff on a 700mb disc. Very weird. Any ideas???

What exactly do you mean by back up? Are you just copying the files, or using some backup software? If so, what?
