The desktop on my computer has been playing up and wont let me add a background(wallpapers) for more than a few minutes. I have tried changing the resolution size on the screen and changing the 'color bit' but nothing seems to work.

When you change your wallpaper, does it go back to what you originally had on your machine, or something else that you never had? If its the latter you probably have some form of spyware. If its the former, I'm not sure I can help.

It just goes black, like a default setting

I had something similar to this, thats why I was asking. However, when it was changing it, it was doing it to a yellow-ish colour. Are you up-to-date with all spyware and anti-virus software? If not get these:

Anti-virus:

Anti-spyware

If you havent got these, get them asap. When you install them, I would recommend running your pc in safe mode to detect anything untoward. Hopefully this can help you.
