I have NTL at home and I'm planning on rigging up the upstairs TV's to recieve the picture from the NTL box downstairs.

But, I was wondering if I could get some unused NTL boxes from somewhere and hook them up? I assume that the NTL Channels wouldn't work, but the Freeview one's would, is this correct? Is it totally Legal?

Also does anyone know if the REALLY old NTL boxes would work, like the original Scientific Atlanta ones?

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Hi..you can't normaly get old NTL box's because unlike sky box's they remain the property of NTL and when you finnish a subscription with them they come and remove the box's. If you just want Freeview up in your room then you can use the existing arial on your home and run it upstair (if it isn't already) and hook it up to a Freeview box. Or if you want you can get an AV sender (Argos cat No.534/5014 50) that sends the signal from your box to your bedroom (no leads needed) and allows you to use your remote from your bedroom to change to channels on your box downstairs.
