I want to be able to create a virtual drive on my PC for mounting images, rateher than burning them to a cd. I have tried daemon tools and cannot get it to install properly. Does anyone know of any alternatives?

there are a few.Im sure if you search on google for 'virtual drive' this would bear fruit.

daemon is regarded as the best.why cant you install it properly ? are you sure you are downloading the right tool ?

PowerISO is a good one that springs to mind. ISObuster is another but I can't remember if it has the functionality you want, but it is free.
Slysofts Virtual Clone Drive is V good...it's commercial but if you know where to look I'm sure you can get it free.
alcahol 120% does the same job, with more stuff too (can write to the drive too).

Thanks all.

Tried Googling, but comes up with all sorts of useless stuff. Have installed Alcohol. Works fine - or at least installs and loads - haven't tried it yet.

Don't know what the problem with Daemon was. Downloaded, installed, rebooted about 3 times, installed searchbar thing, but kept getting error messages on reboot - Invalid drive and such like. Gave up with it in the end.
