hey. my ipod has been broken for a while now. everytime i plug it into my pc, it tells me that its charging but nothing else happens. all the songs got wiped off too! i tried re-installing it. i think that its the connection wire thats the problem. can you buy these from anywhere? has anyone else got suggestions as to whats up with it?

i had a lot of problems like that. make sure you've got service pack two, but when the iPod pops up as another drive, go into it, and find "quicktime restore". that made everything work for me! hope this helps!
how long u had it? might be still under apple warranty ( 1 yr) really good pro service. then try installing ipod updater from the apple support site.. march 06 is latest version. this re checkes your itunes software & the actual operating system on the ipod. short download often a great remedy.let me know.

thanks. i'm not sure whether that will work. when i plug it in, it just keeps on saying 'do not disconnect' and nothing else happens. and when i open itunes, it immediately closes with that microsoft thinks that tells me a problem has been encountered? is my ipod basically dead and gone? ..00
Yeah you can by connection wires.

Either for your PC or other... (USB Cables for Comps)

Contact Itunes

You can buy USB Cables from Comet, Toys R Us ( :P ) , Carphone Warehouse etc

But before you do that i think you should contact Itunes.. It could be that your computer isn't compatible for itunes.. What make is it? Version?
