I have just bought a laptop and thought I would access the internet on the move using a 'pay as you go' internet connection.I would pay via my credit card, which the ISP would claim against automatically as they would know I have logged on because of my username and password. But I have found that I cant do this this because of CLI. Which means that I have to use the same phone line each time. WHY? I log on, They get payed! I know that some ISP's offer an 'on the move' service, but not pay as you go. This would cost at least 20 per month. At home I am paying around 30 per month for BT broadband access per month, I cant afford another 20 for what would be a low usage mobile connection. Anyone know a way around this problem?

I used to use Virgin as my ISP and they did not require me to always use the same phone line. Try them - they, and all their different connection methods, can be found at www.virgin.net
I use UK2 as an ISP to check emails on my mobile phone. They are free (you only pay the price of a local call) but the best thing is you don't need to go through the hassle of registering - just type in their details and connect. Just log in using these details: Dial-up number: 0845 609 1370 Username: UK2 Passwork: UK2 POP3 Server: mail.uk2.net SMTP Server: smtp.uk2.net Primary DNS: 212.4.208.100 Secondary DNS: 212.4.208.106
hey why dont you just but a gprs phone and pay 2 a month to use it, chances are it will be a blue tooth phone so just use the infra red when you are online and the in built modem is faster than 56k sometimes
