For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You may have inadvertently changed the keyboard 'language'. If you go into Control Panel -> Keyboard, you should see the keyboard properties. Make sure it's set to what you want, ie: English (United Kingdom).
Even something which seems innocuous like English (United States) can change some keys around, like the " and @ symbols mentioned.
This can also be checked in Control Panel -> Regional Options.
