Bit of a head scratcher here but a couple of years ago I came across a web site that helped you work out a template for printing off A4 prints...... Not single prints but one where you make huge poster size images by putting all the seperate prints together.... a bit like a jig saw where all the pieces are sized A4.

Not a good desrciption but hopefully you get my drift.
