hi

had the same problem after reinstall of xp pro go here get atomic clock it's been fine ever since

download'com

hope this solves your prob

My guess is it NOT the battery.

You say it jumps 12 hours so my guess is that you have it set on the wrong time zone and it is automatically re-setting itself.

In the bottom right of the task bar is the clock. RIGHT click on it and select Adjust Date/Time.

Choose Time Zone tab and make sure it is GMT (London, Dublin etc).

On the Internet Time tab you can specify if you want your PC to keep the correct time using the Internet Time Server.

I'm no expert; but on a computer maintenance course we were told that if your pc clock runs slow it's the battery needs replacing. I'm assuming it's the clock on the task bar.

thanks to all for all the help advice

Are you on a network? This happened to us at work and the reason was that the time was being picked up from the server, which was wrong.

Once the server was reset, it was fine
