advertising my website
6 Answers
I am self employed 'one man band' and have my own ltd company offering surveying services to the building industry.I have a website up and running and have got free listings in kellys and another similar online industry site.
How do I get my site to come up on a google search eg 'freelance surveyor midlands' and maybe get some customers that way?
I dont want to pay if I can help it, and i dont fancy having a load of links on my site which I believe is how your score rating is worked out by google.
Any advice please?

Any way to get your site up on a google search you would need adwords set up and budget a monthly allowance like 30 or even 25. That drives a lot of traffic to your site and you can target areas and keywords. Its pretty good.

Just to be pedantic - a Limited company needs only one director and one company secretary (who must be different).
I am a director of a small limited company and despite being an 'employee' of the company, I am classed by most financial institutions as being self employed.
I would suggest you look into 'optimising' your website - (google the word) - if you can't afford to pay for it, then you will have a lot of work to do.
If you have a small budget, try the adwords - I have had a little success from it, or you can also try a program called IBP(Internet Business Promoter) which will help you.
Good luck
