I had a old computer with a 4Gb hard drive. I want to upgrade it. I had the manual of the motherboard but I do not understand how to know the maximum capacity of the hard drive that my PC will recognize. My question is, how can I know which is the maximun hard drive capacity my PC will recognize?. Thank you for your attention.

Depends on the operating system - if you have Windows XP you won't need to worry about the maximum size (yet!) - buy the biggest capacity that you can afford. Earlier operating systems did have low capacity.
