You shouldn't have to defrag RAM. And no, I've never seen a program that does this (memory management should be handled well by any half-decent kernel).
The power button will defrag your RAM very quickly and efficiently!

You need FreeRam XP Pro (it's free!!) form:-

I use it all the time and it's great.

wideboy: that should not be required. If you do see any performance gains with that type of product, the memory management by the windows kernel is far worse than I thought.

fo3nix - it's probably because I use several programs back and forth in a single session and multi-task quite a lot. This program has let me see the memory going quite low (I've now got much more on my desktop) especially on a laptop with only 512MB. Either using the program directly or just letting it work in the background releases quite a lot of Ram over a few hours.

Yes, I know I should shut down or have a break occassionally (Ralph's suggestion is true)!

All of what you say wideboy though is perfectly true, but is only down to windows memory management. Try that sort of thing on Mac OS X or some flavour of GNU/Linux, and you may not need to restart for a few weeks!
fo3nix, I wondered if you were using Mac or Linux!! Maybe Vista will be better??
No, XP ;)

Changing to a MacBookPro come the summer though; waiting for Leopard to be released.

Vista should be better for this sort of thing, yea. It's had a lot of its kernel completely re-built. However, there are still many, many bad things about it. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed for another month or two even after the time they presently have set.
