When I send an email, and add a photo as an attachment, it also loads it as a photo in the body of the email ? therefore if i send say six photos as attachments it also sends six photos, which seems to defeat the object of sending an attachment, this is not so bad with broadband, but with dial up it takes a life time.

Any boffins !! Please.

I have noticed that too, and am at a loss to explain why. I don't like Outlook Express, but have to use it as my email is my work address and I don't have it at home.

Maybe you could contact a helpline on Outlook Express and see why it does this?

I think you are misunderstanding how it works. What you say may be true (haven't checked and can't remember) but you do not need to attach the pics to the email, you simply add them to the body of the mail by clicking the add picture button in the message toolbar. They can be saved just as easy by whoever gets it.

what version of outlook express are you using?

when i send emails i can either add the picture into the body of the email (as Postdog described) or add as an attachment. if i add as an attachment tho it doesnt duplicate itself into the email also. cant explain why its happening with you. i use outlook express 6 by the way. it could be that different versions operate in different ways. try clicking on the help tab and typing in 'adding pictures' or 'attachments' see what comes up

Hi clifelf.

Before you add a picture to your email click on Format tab and make sure you have removed the tick against Send Pictures With Message.

Then when you attach pictures they will NOT appear in the text.
