CDA files

I have been sent a CD track via email (CDA - 44bytes). Windows media, Real player etc. will not play it. Any ideas as to how I can play it?? Thanks. 711

You haven't got the track
not sure on the size of CDA files - an mp3 is around 5MB, a wav is around 50MB.
44B will be a shortcut file to the location of the file itself. Check you've removed the right file from the e-mail, and if there is no corect file there, you need to get whoever sent you the file to send you the correct one

Thanks ugly_bob. All standard CD tracks are 44 bytes, irrespective of size or length. Open one on your PC and you`ll see. They play fine on the CD of course, but if you copy one off on to your PC and try to play it, it doesn`t work. It`s probaby to do with preventing copying. I was just wondering if anyone had come up with a way round the problem. 711

44 bytes is just a link to the file. When you open it on the CD while it's in the machine, then it just links to the real music data as ugly_bob says.

44 bytes will not have any music on it at all. You need to ask your friend to send you the music as an mp3 (if you don't mind lossy), or FLAC if you want a perfect copy of the original track on CD.
