Welcome screen

When I start my computer from off or from hibernate I seem to have two welcome screens, when I click my name that screen goes and there is another welcome screen which takes approx 30 seconds to dissapear and then my computer runs normally. I have windows xp home with service pack 2, any help would be great, cheers.
